Assisted Acquisition Services Forum
On October 27th, the Coalition will be hosting senior leaders from the Federal Acquisition Service’s Office of Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS) for a forum focusing on the AAS mission and the outlook for Fiscal Year 2022.

 

The forum will also address procurement and management best practices and priorities from the regional offices and FEDSIM.  AAS has seen unprecedented growth in its portfolio of customer agency support projects and will share insights on where things are headed over the next year from a business and organizational perspective.  The forum will feature the two following panel discussions:   
 

9:00am - 10:00am EDT – Vehicle Utilization and Customer Mission Support—the Picture for AAS  

  • Chris Bennethum, Assistant Commissioner, AAS                 
  • Chris Hamm, Director, FEDSIM                                                                               

10:00am - 11:00am EDT – Best Practices and Priorities  

  • Erin QuickAcquisition Quality Director, FEDSIM: Erin will be articulating the difference between Market Analysis Discussion (MAD) and Due Diligence process, how and why both are used, and how they have adapted to the virtual environment.
  • Kari Santoro, AAS Director, Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic), and Jack Wise, Director, Acquisition Operations, Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic): Kari and Jack will be discussing the Mid-Atlantic Government-Industry Council (MAGIC) – a twice a year event where CSC3 and industry partners gather to talk through their pipelines. They pivoted during the pandemic to meet virtually and will also discuss virtual best practices such as conducting virtual due diligence and site visits.
  • Garett Nelson, Branch Manager, Region 4 (Southeast Sunbelt):  Garett will be discussing a Case Study on SOCOM, including highest technically rated offer with reasonable and realistic price procurement. He will speak to lessons learned regarding evaluation methodology and pricing, and will speak to differences from other approaches such as QIP, and orals Q&A, particularly when adjusting to the virtual environment.
  • Joel Fada, AAS Director, Region 9 (Pacific Rim): Joel will be discussing Sharing Opportunities to Regional External Website, where he will demonstrate how they try to provide industry with as much runway as possible.
 

This event will be complimentary for all Coalition Members, but registration is required.  There will be a $250 fee for Non-Members.
